Passport New Rules
The government introduced some new rules and regulations for Passport. So, the people have to follow the rules and regulations without any fail. Additionally, to facilitate the payments for Tatkaal passports the government of India is installing the point of sale machines at PSK. The individual can apply for a passport by submitting some documents as a proof of Date of Birth, as per the new rules. The new rules of a passport are listed below. Date of Birth Certificates
The list of the date of birth changes is given below. So, Read them carefully to know those changes in the birth certificate.
- The individuals who born after the month of January 1st, 1989 had to submit the birth certificate to get the passport.
- People can submit anyone of the following list to apply for a passport.
- Birth certificate issued by the Registrar of Birth and Deaths or by the Municipal Corporation or by any other authority under the registration of births and deaths Act 1969.
- PAN Card (Permanent Account Number).
- E – Aadhar Card or Aadhar Card with Date of Birth.
- School Leaving Certificate or Transfer Certificate or Matriculation Certificate issued by the Recognised school or Educational board.
- Driving Licence.
- EPIC ( Election Photo Identity Card).
- A Police bond issued by the public life insurance company which contains the applicant’s Date of Birth.
Parent or Guardian Name is mandatory
The individuals who are going to apply for a passport have to mention the parents or guardian’s name. It is mandatory to write parent’s names or guardian’s names on the passport. So, follow the below sections to know more details about Parents or guardian’s names in the passport.
The applicants can now choose to fill their one legal guardian or parent name in the passport. Due to the new rule, father name is not mandatory to write in the passport. If in a case of single mother child or adopted child, they can write their mother name or guardian name in the passport.
Number of Reduction in Annexures
While applying for a passport, you have to submit some documents along with the annexure forms. Due to the new rules of the passport, some changes are done in the annexure forms. Therefore, we had given those details in the below sections.
- In earlier, the passport forms are 15 annexures.
- Now the Passport applications are reduced to 9.
- Some of the passport applications are merged.
No attestation Required on Annexure forms
In Previously, the passport application form annexures required to attested by an executive or magistrate or First Class Judicial Magistrate. Therefore, the attestation is not required on the Annexure forms. A self-attestation and a plain paper are essential fro applying the application form.
In case of Divorced/ Separate Not require Marriage Certificate
In earlier, the marriage certificate is mandatory to apply for a Passport. Even they were separated or Divorced, and a marriage certificate is necessary to get a passport. But due to the new rules and regulations, there is no need to attach the marriage certificate to any application. The separated or divorced people can apply for a passport without submitting their marriage certificate. The applicants can fill the form by leaving his/her former spouse name in the application form.
If the orphaned children who want to apply for a passport can submit their date of birth proof such as court order or a matriculation certificate. If the above documents are not there, they can submit a declaration form which is issued by the Head of the Orphanage or Child care home. The declaration form should be letter headed with the name of the orphanage.
The Government servants who want to apply for a passport have to obtain Annexure B/no-objection certificate from the superiors. If the Annexure B/no-objection certificate is not available, they can submit the self-declaration form. The Declaration form should be annexure-N. The form shows that he/she is applying for an ordinary passport. You can submit it at the passport office. When the officers saw your annexure-N declaration form, they can know that you are applying for an ordinary passport.
